i feel like blogging now. if you dont want to read me rant about tennis and school then close this window. so...i went to tennis tryouts yesterday. and even though i sucked (all my fault....i didn't practice this summer) i still had fun. it was great being back with the girls and playing tennis. well i got home and was talking to ash on the phone....and i started questioning whether or not i wanted to do tennis. cuz she was talking about how she wasn't doing polo cuz the coach was INSANE (her words not mine) and the practices were INSANE too (again, her words not mine). but for me, it's different. tennis is just fun. it's not super hard core and intense which is what i love about it. it's a good way to excercise and have fun competition. i mean, i love playing tennis. it's easier for ash to decide to not do water polo, but tennis is just pure fun.....i dont have a crazy coach that makes us practice for 3+ hours.
then ash reminded me that if i do tennis, it's a commitment and i have to stick with it. and knowing me, (which i know very well) i'll stick with it. i know i will. i always keep my commitments. and tennis won't take away from lt.gov cuz that's another commitment that i plan on sticking with. buuuuut, my other non-commitments will suffer. such as: school, SAT II's, college apps, etc. those aren't commitments that i made and no one else depends on me for those. for tennis and DC i'm part of a team and i have to uphold my part of that. but if i join tennis i KNOW that i'll neglect SAT's. and now that college is getting closer and closer it's crunch time. i've been researching colleges and i know my scores are a little shy of getting me into the colleges that i want. i CLEARLY remember that last year i didn't practice my SAT's AT ALL during the school year. i only practiced over the summer, cuz i just didn't have time during the year. and whenever i DID have free time i wanted to RELAX and not do SAT's. and that'll be the same for this year. i'll be burned out from school, interact, and tennis....and what am i gonna do? not study SAT II's....i'm gonna wanna relax.
so after a lot of careful thinking, i decided i wasn'g gonna do tennis, and i knew i would regret it. so if i'm going to regret it, why not just play? well, for all the reasons i stated previously. i only have one year of high school left. and if you look at it this way: i actually only have one semester left of high school to get myself accepted into college. and i'll be spending FOUR years in college so it shouldn't be a big deal to crack down for one semester and get into a college i want....a college i'll be spending four years in. but after i got to thinking about it as, "man i only have one year of high school left," i started to think that i SHOULD do tennis. after all, i only have one year left.....why not play tennis? it's my last chance. my last year of high school.
THEN i got to thinking again (i think too much, i know). i've been playing for two years. i feel like im QUITTING by not joining my senior year. i feel like i should join my third year of tennis. i mean, why not spend my last and final year of high school playing a sport i love. why not spend my last year of high school playing varsity tennis? and why shouldn't i fill my last year of high school with fun tennis memories?
i continued thinking (i really oughta stop doing that), and i looked at it a different way. it's my last year of high school so why kill myself? why should i take on so much extracurriculurs that i SUFFOCATE under the pressure of it all? i don't want to kill myself my senior year, i jsut wanna have fun. BUT tennis is fun. BUT it's also something that takes time, hence more stress. but it's fun. but it causes stress (not the sport itself, just the time it takes up). but it's fun. but it's stress. but it's fun. so i keep on going back and forth and back and forth like freaking ping pong ball.
so....i THOUGHT i had made my decision last night to not join tennis. it all seemed perfectly clear and SIMPLE. i need to improve my scores -->tennis will take away from that -->don't join tennis. but now it seems so far from simple. what a biznatch. i don't want to take on more than i could handle. i BARELY made it last year. what with The Last Unicorn, AP tests, SAT's, school, and interact....i freaking DIED (many times over). the point is...i got by with a 4.0.....but not after suffering a helluva a lot of stress. do i want to go through that again? no, i don't. but do i regret taking all that on? nope, not at all. i had the best time being a part of The Last Unicorn. i knew it was all worth it when we took that first bow after our first peformance and i could hear everyone cheering and clapping. it's the same thing for tennis. it feels great to win a match. i remember last year, i ALMOST beat the mission varsity singles number four player. we had two tiebreakers in the first two sets....both of which she won. but even so, that was the BEST game i ever played. it was so much fun. and i don't wanna give that up.
but by NOT giving it up, i'm taking away from SAT II's. and even though i'm always saying, "screw SAT's. it's all a piece of crap," when i'm so close to applying to colleges i can't take that attitude. THEN i started thinking if i don't do tennis will i REALLY spend more time on SAT's? i seriously doubt it. so after all is said and done it sounds like there's more in favor of JOINING tennis. but, if i don't join i'll EFFING force myself to study for SAT II's. holy mother, i JUST realized LAST NIGHT that i only have ONE MONTH left to study before the october SAT's. and THAT is convincing me more than anything to not join tennis.
JFKLSDFJDKLSJFDKLSJFSDKLFJDSLKFJSDLFKH......WHAT DO I DO!?!??! I need to talk to my sister.
*edit* i'm also continuing my job. but i talked with my boss and if i do tennis i'll only be working two days a week for the next two months. if i DON'T do tennis i think im going to tell her to resume my regular schedule. but even "regular" isn't every day. my boss is hecka tyt and she wants us to keep up our grades and stuff. so if i don't do tennis, i guess i'll fill the time with my job. so it'll be like the same thing whether or not i do tennis right? not really.....cuz i wouldn't be working every day. plus, i need the money more than i need the tennis. haha. *edit*

i got hit on by a 40-yr.old black guy today. it was gross. people have no lives.
here's my schedule:
1. AP Calculus - Joseph
2. AP English - Arnold
3. Drama 2 - Ballin
4. Anatomy/Physiology - Keller
5. AP Government - Vargas
6. Literature, Justice, Society - Perlman (no one better make a comment about SNOOPY. yeah, you all know who you are.)
sweeeet. calc is gonna kiiiiiiiiillllllll me but i can survive one death this year....it's gotta be better than last year. it looks like im alone in drama 2 so far. anyone in that class or know people with drama 2?! i hate being a loner.......brings back bad seventh grade memories.
today is hot. baskin robbins was floooooooooded with people. i got so freaking tired at the end my mind was totally gone. my body was there and i was moving my arms and legs, but my mind was in the clouds somewhere. i felt like i was floating. so i kept on asking people to repeat what they wanted. they must've thought i was really dumb. oh well. i drank a lot of smoothies, and now i want more.

i went camping with my mom and dad a few days ago. we camped at diamond lake oregon. it could've been really fun.....but the weather SUCKED ASS. it was rainy and cold and dreary and foggy and cold and crappy and cold. i still had a good time though: horseback riding, driving a boat (will ya look at me...i dont even have my license and im driving a boat. fun =D ), watching the stars at night, and cooking our food outdoors. the first night was the worst because it was the COLDEST and RAINIEST right around dinner. what a pain. my fingers were so effing frozen i thought they were going to fall off. the second night was better cuz i collected about five tons of firewood and we made a fire at night. i was nice and toasty =D. one of my favorite things about camping is being able to sit outdoors and actually SEE the stars. i love it when there are no city lights. it's so gorgeous.
these past two days i've been at orientation getting people to sign up for interact, and (strangely) working for asb. i was visiting rishi by the temporary id's and Paris comes along asking him to order lunch. then she looks at me, asks who i am, and tells me to sit down and take his place. and seeing how Paris freaks me out a little i sat down. haha. and oh my goodness....i love chris hong. he got freaking MORE THAN FIFTY BUCKS for Polio Plus just from donations at orientation. that dude is awesome. but i think interact was extremely successful this year. we had a sexy scrapbook (thanks michelle), snazz-a-riffic posters (thanks jean), and the coolest t-shirts on the planet (thanks jp). plus we had candy, and high schoolers can be easily bribed so that worked out well.
i got to see douggie yesterday. he took me, michelle, and jp to tapex where we played texas hold 'em and what did we bet? well....anything from our house to our families to lint. hahaha. none of us had money so we bet obscure objects.
then afterwards: the kareoke party at jp's house. it was me, jp, michelle, carlo, laura, soo-yung, bjay, and willis. oh man, poor soo-yung went on the dumbarton bridge THREE times because she couldn't find the right exit to get to jp's house. PLUS she had school the next day. awww, i love her =D. gotta admire her dedication. thank god she came cuz we used her tragic story of getting lost to guilt bjay into coming. we played card games, ate pizza and macaroni (willis makes teeeeee-rific macaroni), and sang kareoke. and what kareoke party with ryla people would be complete without LEAN ON ME? it was cute....we all got in front of the tv and had our arms around each other while we sang lean on me. awwwww. we also created a new area: AREA 45! it's a combination of area four and five.
michelle and bjay smoked a little too much before they came though. they were both acting kinda high.
then when bjay drove me home (thanks a bunch!) i improved my sense of direction......sort of. i just found out that blacow and grimmer are parallel and if i go down carlo's street i'll hit tri-city and cloverleaf. huh. go figure. you know you're sense of direction SUCKS when someone in another city knows your city better than you. oh well.
and is it just me or does the incoming freshman class just dress sluttier every year? cuz, wow, i saw way too much skin today. holy crap....it's effing orientation. no need to dress like you're gonna hit the clubs or something. aaaaanyways. i got a sexy new CLASS OF 05 t-shirt today. yeeeeeeeeah...gooooo seniors =D.
we all went a little crazy towards the end of orientation. i started playing brain teasers with reed and singing power ranger/sailor moon songs with ruthann. funky.
long entry. later players.

in response to sandeep's comment: i DO watch the olympics, but i don't think michael phelps or paul hamm is hot. yes, all the girls can kill me. they really are not hot. i thought that everyone was obsessed with phelps cuz he was a good swimmer.....which he is. i remember watching him receiving the gold medal and i was thinking, "too bad he's not cute." hahaha. yeah, phelps has a nice body...all tone and stuff, but it's not like i feel the need to continuously rant and blog about his gorgeous body.
i went to the three days grace concert last night (Ceasar chavez park in san jose) with michelle, jp, alan, and judy. we met up with jean and friends over there. the first opening band was Life with Jonas. they were pretty good. the lead singer was hot. too bad he smokes....what a turnoff. gross. but i got their demo cd signed by all four of 'em, and i got a snazzy new life with jonas t-shirt =D. michelle had her "can i please have your pick" sign, so she got a pick from one of the guitarist. i gotta remember that for next year.
the next band was apollo sunshine. holy crap they were CRAZY. the guy was playing the keyboard with his head. and his legs had a freaking brain of their own. they were moving like crazy. watching apollo made me feel like i was in the 70s cuz that was how they were dressed. haha. but that aside they were GOOD. very impressive. i met the lead singer afterwards and he acted like he was high....probably cuz he was.
AND THEN Three Days Grace came out. they were freakign awesome. and i did not get beat up! yay! i was by the side of the stage so i had a good view of the band and i didn't get suffocated. sweeeet. after the apollo performance everyone in front of the stage started heck of pushing forward and the people in the very front by the fence were getting squashed (a feeling i know all too well). so security wouldn't let three days grace come out until everyone moved back two feet. so naturally, everyone moved back six inches and once the band came out everyone moved forward about four feet. i'm just glad i wasn't part of that massive blob.
next year i need to bring a notebook to hold up signs AND i need to bring a little kid. cuz there were a whole bunch of little kids there that got drum sticks and picks. they're just so cute the band can't resist but give them stuff. we should've brought jp's sister. hahaha.
i got the three days grace cd for ten bucks. man, i love buying stuff at concerts. so cheap =D. so after the three days grace concert we all waited outside their bus for them to come out. apparently, they wanted to come out but (i think) the police (or some authority figure) wouldn't let them. idiots. so when security announced that they weren't coming out we still hung around just in case they came out when the crowds left. but then the stupid cops showed up and kicked us out of the park. grrr.
all in all it was a very fun night. gotta love free concerts =D =D =D.
yellowcard and starting line are coming to sf on october 16th (saturday). oooh, i heck of wanna go. right now the tickets are pre-sale so they're cheap. buuuut i'm spending about 300+ bucks on senior stuff and that's not including college application fees. plus the 16th is right around leadership conference, college applications, and SAT stuff. eerrrrrrks. im so tempted to buy tickets, but i think i have to pass. *sigh*.
i have my first driving lesson today. i hope i dont crash into anything......or anybody.

so on monday i went sf sightseeing with my "cousin." she's a family friend, but cousin is like the same thing. she's visiting her grandpa in the bay area for a few days and she wanted to see sf. the tour was boring as hell, but she was good company so it was an ok day.
a couple came into baskin robbins today literally GROPING each other. it was gross. they were making out and trying to place an order at the same time. i swear to goodness, i thought they were going to freaking have sex on the floor. they were all over each other......sickos.
judy called me at around eight thrity tonight to come in and work for her cuz she was tired. i agreed to it....but oh my goodness i could NOT find my uniform. i had the shirt but i had no idea where my pants were. so i checked the washing machine and they were in there waiting to be washed. well i had no choice but to put on dirty pants. i felt so grungy. i mean.....they were in the DIRTY hamper for quite a few days. gross.
oh man....the da vinci code is sooooooooo good. i finished that book in one and a half days. i spent the ENTIRE day yesterday reading it. that's the ONLY thing i did alllll day (except eat, go to the bathroom, and sleep). sooo addicting. what a good book =D. the only other time i read one book for the whole day was when harry potter and the order of the phoenix came out. i like reading but i ususally dont read for about eight hours straight. but the da vinci code (and harry potter) was too addicting to put down. yeah im a wild nut =P.
three days grace concert tomorrow!

so rotary day at the A's was a blast =D. some highlights:
- having FIELD level seats. niiiiice....row fifteen =D.
- willis catching a foul ball. well, not really catching. more like this independence dude TRIED to catch it, but it bounced off and landed in front of willis. poor guy though...his hand was HECK OF red and bruised. ouch. me and bjay ducked while everyone else had their hand outstretched, waiting to catch the ball. haha. better safe than sorry.
- our "original" A's cheer: GO OAKLAND A'S, PUMP IT UP, PUMP IT UP, ON FIRE, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, AHWOOOOOO (WOO WOO WOO WOO) WEEEEEE (WOO WOO WOO WOO). hahaha, RYLuv is everywhere =D. we said the cheer towards the end of the game when the A's were up by six. so after we said it, this guy a couple rows up was like "where the hell were you guys for the whole game?" hahahahaha.
- pigging out on good food cooked by rotarians at the tailgate party
- playing "honey i love you". everyone go for bjay!
- playing intense uno and egyptian war in the motor home
- confusing the hell out of bjay....am i lying? so what if i was lying? so what if i wasn't lying? hahahaha.
- talking with sarmad about how cell phones vibrate. leg spasm...LOL!
- JP asking someone not on the team to sign her hat. hahahahaha.
- me and michelle seeing the hidden "connections" between *coughcough* and secret agent
as always, it was a good time hanging out with interactors =D. i really think im getting into baseball. gooooo A's!!!

i went shopping on monday. yuck. for those that dont know, i hate shopping. i like having clothes and shoes....basically i like owning stuff but i just dont like shopping for it. it's so freaking tedious. looking for clothes, trying them on...looking for more clothes, trying those on. looking for shoes...trying them on. looking for more shoes and trying them on. soooooooo tedious. shopping is like a freaking chore for me. this was the first time i went shopping in literally a year. im not even lying. the last article of clothing i got was my yellowcard shirt which was from warped tour. and before that i got a pair of jeans. well i didn't really get them....my sis went shopping and got them for me. but now that she's gone i actually have to go shopping. it sucks. i need my own personal shopper.
so anyways, monday i was bored out of my mind shopping by myself. i know i know, i can always go shopping with friends. but if shopping is like a chore for me why would i go with friends. i mean, who does chores with their friends? that's like calling your friend and saying, "hey im doing the dishes tonight and im gonna vaccum the house. wanna come over?" yeah, that's lame. plus i go shopping so rarely that when i go i actually need to get stuff. if i went with friends then we'd hang out, walk around, window shop, and talk. but i wouldn't get anything, so then it'd be a waste of time, and then i'd have to go to the blasted mall again to actually buy stuff. and why would i go twice in one month? i wouldn't. so then i'd never get new stuff. i'd just wear the same thing over and over again. i forgot where i was going with this so i'll stop.
something really gross happened to me on monday. so being without a license and a car i took the bus to the mall. and as i walked to a seat, some 40-50 year old mexican dude said to me, "you look so beautiful." i was like, "ooookay....um, thanks." so i sat down and then he turns around and says, "so how you do that?" ew gross. i was so creeped out i was about to puke on him. jackhole. THAT is why i should never go shopping and THAT is why i need a personal shopper. so that 50 yr. old mexican guys can hit on her and not me. sick.

i got my permit today =D. i missed seven. hm, came awfully close to not passing but i did so no worries.
i was the freaking FIRST person in that line. heck yeah.
i scootered to the bank and kaiser today. i couldn't find the bank (which is five minutes from my house). how sad. i stood in one place for like five minutes trying to figure out where i was. i ended up just going down some random street. turned out to be the right one. yeah, me and my keen sense of direction.
officers meeting went pretty well today. now lets see if we can put all this stuff into action. *crosses fingers.*
Rotary Day at the A's
If you're an Interactor that wants free tickets for the A's game this saturday, let me know! Rotarians are barbecuing for the tailgate party beforehand. So free tickets and free food =D.
i was the freaking FIRST person in that line. heck yeah.
i scootered to the bank and kaiser today. i couldn't find the bank (which is five minutes from my house). how sad. i stood in one place for like five minutes trying to figure out where i was. i ended up just going down some random street. turned out to be the right one. yeah, me and my keen sense of direction.
officers meeting went pretty well today. now lets see if we can put all this stuff into action. *crosses fingers.*

the president's meeting went pretty well =D. the hugging ice breaker was fun. props to eric for thinking that up. the committees were pretty cool...me and laura just walked around and dropped in on the committees. life is good when you don't have much to do. hehe. an ant was crawling on my hand and i freaked out. nothing new there. after the president's meeting i went to the mile high family reunion with eric, carlo, rahul, rachel, jp, michelle, and laura. and then the counselors scott (nemo), bella, and matty were there. there were only like six mile high family members. the rest of us were from other families but it was all good. still had fun. i SUCK at bowling. i REALLY suck. i bowled SOOOOOOOOOOOO many zeros. it was pathetic. i did get one strike though =D. woot! and then we ended up playing cups, bang bang, and the stick game. stupid rahul ruined the cups game by blurting out the answer. all these mind games....man, it's all about newspaper. gotta represent! haha.
work was hilarious today. judy seriously inhaled too much cleaning fumes. she was craaazy. these two guys walked in and while she's scooping them ice cream she's saying stuff like, "dont smoke pot. but if you want some come to my car later." it was jsut random crap like that. then we met a white guy who spoke mandarin pretty damn well. i heard him talking to his asian wife and i said, "whoa.......you speak mandarin??!" apparently he spent three years in taiwain...sweeet. that was cool. and then judy puts her hands on her hips and says "EXCELLENT!" hahahahahha....that's only funny to me probably. one of those things you had to be there. either that or you had to be SO tired that anything was funny.
im so obsessed with interact now. i mean i always loved it.....but now it's like crazy. interact 24/7. heck yeah! repping the 5170!
area four
knocks on your door
to ask for more
money for the poor!
and for polio!
our hands are high
our feet are low
and this is how area four flows!
*wacky hand motions*
area four FO SHO!
*gang sign*
hahahahah.....we make interact so ghetto. i got it from cocomo. cocomo and all their ghetto-ness cheers: "we be clubbin" "who's got the flow, the mamas got it yo." hahahaha. ghetto-ness is cool though =P
im so happy with our DC. everyone is SO enthusiastic and they're all such great leaders. gotta love it. and everone just brings so much to the team. i know last year a lot of decisions were already made by lia and the DC was just infomred about it. but this year we have such an amazing council....things are a little different. me and laura are including DC members in the decision process......asking their opinions and what not. at first i was really freaked out cuz we didn't have a lot of decisions made, and we seemed heck of behing compared to last year. but then rotarian donn wadley reminded me that the council is TOTALLY different this year so things'll work differntly. we'll work at a differnt pace and conduct meetings differently. plus a lot of the members have been happy with what me and laura are doing....so yay!
oh and the president's meeting also happened to be my first date with my new "boyfriend." it was cute cuz we were both matching with our powder baby blue shirts and interact pins! and we so totally did not plan that. we're just so, erm, in tune with each other. yep =D

i hate the dmv. once again i find myself typing about how i hate the dmv in my blog at 8am. why? because the f-ing dmv doesnt' open till nine o'clock....but only on wednesdays. and on the THIRD week of every month the schedule is different. hasn't anyone ever heard of CONSISTENCY? damn. i think if i go to the dmv one more time and fail to walk out with a permit, then it's fate that i never learn how to drive. and when i came home my mom comes over and says stuff along the lines of "you should've checked the schedule before you went. you young people...whenever you do things you never do it right. well this just teaches you to check in advance. if you checked in advance then you wouldn't have to wake up early. you know the dmv is a very weird place. go to the san francisco dmv sometime and you'll see what kind of people stand in line." now, i have NO idea what the HECK the last two sentences were meant for. i mean, it's the second time i've come home from the dmv without a permit and she's making me feel freaking good about it.....thanks mother. geez.
correction from yesterday's post: the three days grace concet is august NINETEENTH, not fifteenth. everyone should come check it out cuz it's free....especially all you rylarians that haven't been attending reunions!

today was a fun mini-ryla reunion. not that many people showed but we all had a good time anyways. it was me, matt, jp, michelle, rachel, maverick, liza, and rahul originally. then betty and a pimpin puma guy (forgot his name...) showed up. we saw harold and kumar go to white castle. hahahaha...that movie was hilarious. and as usual i was laughing my ass off in the beginning when they showed the fandango paper bags. i love that part =D. and after the movie we saw dan. what a coincidence. so he hung out with us, and then jaq stopped by later also. yay! for once SS RYLA was NOT underrepresented. there were freaking FOUR of us. woot!
so basically we just ate, watched a movie, and walked around the mall. but it was cool hanging around ryla people, even if i talk to three of them all the time. haha. it's funny cuz i never talked to matt at camp and i didn't know who rahul was but now we're all hanging out. that's what's awesome about ryla. you can drop in on any family get-together and it's cool. or you can hang out with a bunch of ryla people you don't know that well and it'll still be heck of fun.
OH! before i forget.....i MUST mention matt's OUTSTANDING driving skills. i mean, these counselors. wow, they just blow your mind sometimes. so matt's making a left turn into the great mall parking lot when HALFWAY through his turn he says "oh what the hell am i doing!" and he makes a U-Turn instead. what happened was matt was turning from the INSIDE turning lane and some dude from the outer turning lane cut into matt's lane when he was finishing his turn. so matt got all confused and thought he shouldn't be turning and made a FAT U-Turn instead. hahahahhaha.
jaq accidentally grabbed some dude's balls in the mall. she wasn't looking where she was going and she bumped into this balding middle-aged guy in a suit, and her hands just happened to grab his.....yeah you get the idea. speaking of that, during LUNCH people *coughcoughmatt* were referring to the pearls in the tapioca drinks as balls. so that was ok. but then those "people" started to say stuff like "hard balls" and "gooey balls" and it got really gross. it's nice to know that we keep things ryla-rated outside of ryla =P
who's up for a FREE three days grace concert in san jose on august fifteenth? should be awesome =D.
It's me and brian's battle over interact and key club. i think he secretly knows that interact is better but is just too scared to admit it....

i went to an A's game with michelle, willis, and JP last wednesday. that was fun =D. on the BART ride there we played a whole bunch of brain teasers....the same ones i played at the beach reunion. jp and willis got the snaps game REALLY quickly. it was funny seeing them all confused during the stick game and cups game though.
im not really an avid baseball watcher but for some reason i always end up at baseball games. it was fun cuz seats were only two bucks and hot dogs were one dollar. we had seats up in the boonies but we moved down. there was a row of really hot guys sitting behind us. i turned around in my seat to get my fries and when i looked up i saw this cute guy wearing a camp elijah polo shirt. then i look down the row and there are like ten hot guys wearing the exact same thing. camp elijah must be nice =D.
on the way home in paulo's car we played the license plate game. paulo and jp were in the front; me and michelle were in the back. instead of punching the other person we hit their hat. and holy crap michelle hit my hat heck of freaking hard. jp could hear the slap from the front seat. my forehead got abused that day. it was an intense game. hahaha. we were all twisting around in our seats looking for out of state, blue, custom, no front, and paper license plates. i love that game =D.
it was fun hanging out with jp, michelle, and willis. what's interesting is that i never hung out with willis before. i barely even talked to him. but it's like after ryla we're going to baseball games together....that's pretty cool. and me and willis weren't even in the same family, but we're still hanging out more now. i love ryla.
i'm also starting to get into baseball. deto should be happy.
