I saw Switchfoot in concert last night with JoeChai. It was FREAKING AMAZING. And best of all, it was free =D. They played at a club, not a stadium, so I could actually see all of them from where I was standing. It was such an AWESOME show. I love them. It was really lucky that I got to go...some guy on campus had four tickets to the show, but for some reason he couldn't go anymore. So, JoeChai grabbed up the tickets, and since I was the first of his friends to sign on online...lucky me =D. Thanks buddy. I'm gonna get screwed over tonight with the enormous amounts of work I have to do, but oh man it was so worth it. Sadly, I didn't bring my camera so I don't have pictures to post and make all of you drool over. Well maybe not all of you...just Michelle. hahaha.

I got mail in my mailbox today. That really brightened up my day...thank hun. I plan on living my life by these three words, "Dip it low!". I think I want to dedicate a portion of the wall in my room to penguins. It's going to be great.

I have a Chinese test to take tonight, but there are so many characters to memorize that I decided to make a picture post instead.....because everyone knows a picture post will definitely help me pass my Chinese test and further my education. These pictures show some of the wonderful inhabitants of Apt. 46.

This is Mary a.k.a CRAAAAAZY MARY. She lives in my apartment unit. She's from NY.

This is Dave. He lives in the apartment unit right under me. Dave drinks a lot of orange juice, and instead of stacking beer cans like Apt.50, he stacks orange juice bottles. Dave is from NY.

This is Eric. He's Dave's roommate. I don't know what he's doing here...trying to be sexy I suppose. Eric is from Massachusetts.

This is Austin. He doesn't live in 46, but he spends so much time here that he might as well live here. Oh, and he's always half-naked. Although, since it is steadily getting colder, I suspect he won't be wandering around half-naked as much anymore. Austin is from Turkey, but he's not Turkish...he's half-white, half-chinese. He was born in Houston, Texas. It would've been great if he was born in Austin, Texas.

This is Jessie a.k.a. J Wu. She lives in my unit and has the same last name as me. She's from Conneticut.

Two-and-a-half asians and half a confused white guy.

This is my roommate, Inez. She's from Minneapolis.

This is Po (who's name is actually Paul, but we call him Po). I hang out with Po too much because he's influenced me to become way more cynical and sarcastic. He takes Chinese 1 with me. The white board he's holding says, "Mary likes to eat people." Being Asian here is a minority, so most people don't understand my Asian jokes...except for Po. All the things we say would be so racist...if we weren't Asian. It's great.

J Wu and Po dancing to "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls. This is our official apartment song. My apartment unit is especially fond of blaring it out of the speakers at 2am.

There are a lot more people in 46, but pictures of my other apartment-mates will come later. As will more quirky, bizarre pictures that we normally take in the wee hours of the morning. Alrighty, time to get crackin at my Chinese.

It's rainy. It's cold. It's like winter came two months early for me. I'm going to die when winter really hits. This weather does not make me happy. I want my CA weather back.

New York City picture post. (Pictures courtesy of Laura and Timmy).

First night at Columbia. Brian's such a pimp.

Me, Laura, Brian in front of the enormous ferris wheel at Toys 'R Us.

We wanted to sit in the My Little Pony one....but instead we got the Potato heads.

And of course we had to take scandalous pictures with the potato heads.

Pimpin

Licking ice cream. It took forever to pose for these pictures. We must have looked really strange to the people standing below. hahahaha.

A semi-normal picture of us. Brian looks goofy.

Laura, Brian, and monopoly money

I spent my 2nd day in NYC with Timmy. This is us in Times Square.

We visited a church. The churches on the East Coast are way nice. Ah, what I would give to go to Europe and see the cathedrals.

At Union Square. From here we walked 30 blocks so that I could take a picture with....

....Samuel Jackson! And so that Timmy could take a picture with...

...a repulsive, stuffed, pink animal. What the hell is that? It has a freaking bird on its head. Ah, the funny things you find in Sanrio.

The biggest and most gorgeous Harry Potter billboard I've ever seen.

Ice skating at the Rockefeller Center. I definately want to skate here this winter.

On Brian's last night in NYC, we decided to go to the roof of the Engineering building.

Laura and Brian attempting to push open the trapdoor.

Laura, Brian, and me looking scared because we were in a really creepy-looking place.

Posting pictures on Blogger is so freaking tedious. This took me forever. Well, it's not like I was dying to do my homework anyways.

I. love. this. hoodie.

^---I HELLA like that website. If I could, I would buy all the norcal merchandise, decorate my room in it, and invite JoeChai over to see. Hahahahahaha, oh man, he would die.
My apartment mates and I SCOURED the apartment today. Everything smells like cleaning supplies now. It's great. Our kitchen is ant-free, our bathroom is hair-free and rust-free, and our living room is paper-free and leaf-free. My sister bought me a bathmat, and I must say it feels damn good to shower without flipflops. I cannot reiterate enough that I'M SO HAPPY OUR APARTMENT IS CLEAN. Now I wonder how long it's going to stay that way.

My ten-day fall break is over. School starts tomorrow. Chem test on Friday. I'm starting kickboxing classes on Sunday. Exciting, yeah?

I think what I like the most about Haverford, is the people. Last night my friend and I stayed up till 4am just talking. And after I went to bed he stayed up for another three hours talking to my roommate. haha. I love it here. There's so much you learn outside the classroom. Yeah, in the classroom you're learning about a specific subject and you're gaining knowledge...but it's the talks outside the classroom that you have with friends that are really meaningful and that stick with you. It's what I like the most about college life.

LAURA DOAN UPLOAD NY PICTURES SO I CAN MOOCH!!!!!

I love my ten-day fall break.

This past weekend I stayed over at Columbia with Laura and Brian. It was so great to see them, and have our own mini (super mini) DC+2 get-together. It was good for me to see some familiar norcal faces. Plus, I could say hella and not get capped on.

Before I blog about my exciting weekend in NYC I have to say a hugeungous thank you to Timmy for driving me up there. (Even though he doesn't read this I feel like I have to say it otherwise I'm just being ungrateful). Driving in NYC is freaking insane. It looks so stressful and frusturating, but he did a pretty damn good job of navigating through the city in his minivan. It took us three hours to get to NY from Philly, and then another two hours just to get into Manhattan. Ridiculous I tell you.

Well this past weekend was anything but ideal for sightseeing around because it was cold, gloomy, and rainy. Yet, I still had an awesome time. On Saturday Laura, Brian, and I entered the lottery for Rent, and lo and behold Laura's name got picked and we were able to buy tickets for only $20!!! (Yes, that deserved three exclamation points). Freaking amazing. Watching a show on Broadway was definitely the ultimate NY experience. It was an awesome performance =D. Afterwards we walked around Times Square and camwhored like crazy on the giant ferris wheel inside Toys 'R Us. Sidenote: never make fun of someone if they have a lame umbrella while it's windy and rainy because you'll get hit with bad umbrella kharma.

The next day Laura had to study and Brian met up with his sister, so I hung out with Timmy for the day. We went to church where I had to pinch myself for an hour to stay awake. By the end of the sermon my forearms were spotted with red marks and fingernail indents. Yeah, it didn't feel so great. Timmy took me around Greenwich Village, Union Square, and all the way back up to Times Square and the Rockefeller Center. We walked from about 14th street to 42nd just to take a picture with Samuel L. Jackson. Let's disregard the fact that it was a wax figure because it was still cool. AND I TOOK A PICTURE WITH THE BIGGEST HARRY POTTER BILLBOARD I'VE EVER SEEN. IT HAD FLASHING LIGHTS AROUND IT; IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. Needless to say, that picture made me happy =D.

On Monday Brian and I hit up Central Park. Then he had to leave...and this blog entry is getting too long so I'm going to skimp on details. I'm surprised I didn't get lost in NYC or on the subways....but sadly, I got lost in Central Park because there are no street signs and that park is enormous. It was a very nice walk but freaking A I couldn't find my way out to the other side. I went to a museum. I saw Ground Zero. I watched Requiem for a Dream with Laura and her friends. That move is so great, but it's extremely disturbing. After watching it you feel like dying because the world is such a horrible place.

I came back to Haverford on Tuesday by the Chinatown bus (MY PEOPLE!). I had such an amazing time in NYC. Laura Doan you are the best host ever. I forgot how much fun I could have with DC+2 people. There's always something to laugh about and talk about.

Anita, you better have read every word of this entry because I made it for your reading enjoyment. I was only going to make a brief two paragraph entry, but after your caps lock comment I decided to make a nice, detailed, boring entry. All for you buddy =D.

Pictures will be posted when Laura and Timmy upload them.

I'm at my sister's apt for a few days, and now I'm going to make dinner. []Deace.

My two apartment-mates turn 18 today. When I turn 18 we're hitting up a strip club.

My chem class was cancelled this morning because my professor was stuck in Chicago. I was so happy I got to sleep in, and now I'm freaking PSYCHED to study for my Macroeconomics midterm on Wednesday. I kid you not, I can't wait to finish blogging and then hit the books. I can't wait for midterms....partly because after they're over I have a TEN FREAKING DAY fall break and partly because I'm curious to see how well or how badly I'll do if I study like crazy for a class I've barely paid attention in thus far. I had no idea sleeping in could motivate me so much. And now I'm going to go into a super-intense hardcore Econ studying mode. EXCITEMENT!!!
